It was a challenging privilege to attend an event to mark the 10th European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism held on March 11th in the Senate Chamber at Parliament Buildings, Stormont.

A newly formed Assembly Group on Animal Welfare held its first meeting on 3 March. Speaking as vice chair, Lyttle said that the group hopes to end animal cruelty in Northern Ireland.

Lyttle, an outspoken supporter of animal rights, asked the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development what progress has been made on animal cruelty legislation. He also condemned recent reports of animal mistreatment in East Belfast, requesting that the Minister advise the public on how to take action against such crimes.

On 27 February, Business in the Community presented the findings of United at Work, an EU project promoting the integration of older and younger people, to leading Northern Ireland businesses. It was my privilege to support and welcome the event at Parliament Buildings.
