During the 9 February Assembly budget debate, Lyttle criticised the lack of investment in Northern Ireland's water infrastructure, citing misguided subsidies and the absence of domestic water charges as part of the problem.

As Chair of the Assembly Working Group on Cycling, Lyttle has pursued legislation that will ensure safety, accessibility and sustainability for cyclists in Northern Ireland. During Question Time on 27 January, Lyttle asked the Minister for Regional Development about progress in his campaign to encourage people to adopt cycling as a routine mode of travel.

Following the axing of the 2015-16 Tourism Events Fund last year, Lyttle has worked for its reinstatement. On 20 January, Lyttle asked Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Investment Arlene Foster whether she would allocate any of her budget for the Fund in 2015-16.
