I am delighted to support the Transport Minister's Walk to School Week 2015 initiative and would encourage all drivers, cyclists and other road users in East Belfast to take extra care next week. Walk to the School Week will run from 18-22 May across Northern Ireland.

During the Assembly on 12 May, Lyttle asked Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy how he intends to improve the integration of sustainable transport and cycling provision in light of the upcoming Dublin Road improvement scheme. Lyttle chairs the All Party Group on Cycling and is an avid supporter of cycling as an alternative mode of transport in Northern Ireland.

After welcoming the extension of the review of the Welfare of Animals Act to include consideration of puppy farming, Lyttle asked Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Michelle O'Neill if she would act on recommendations for legislation on the issue during Assembly on 28 April.

On 28 April in the Assembly, Lyttle lobbied Minister of Culture Arts and Leisure Carál Ní Chuilín for secure arts and creative industries funding in Northern Ireland. The question followed Lyttle's request for an assessment of the EastSide Arts Festival, which Ms Ní Chuilín lauded as a "brilliant exposition."
