Supporting Alzheimer's Society's 'Right to Know' campaign

It is my pleasure to support the important work of the Alzheimer's Society and the 'Right to Know' Campaign. I took the opportunity at Assembly Question Time on Monday 20th April to ask the Minister of Heath, Social Services and Public Safety how he is supporting the campaign and people living with dementia in Northern Ireland.

I also asked the Minister how far his department is from achieving the key targets of the campaign – a diagnosis for everyone with dementia, a wait of no longer than 12 weeks between first GP appointment and diagnosis, and a dementia support worker or equivalent for everyone diagnosed with the condition.

You can see the Health Minister's response in the short video above and learn more about the 'Right to Know' campaign at www.alzheimers.org.uk/earlydiagnosis.

I will continue to work on behalf of people and families living with dementia to access the help and support they need and deserve.
