Education Framework to improve outcomes for all pupils in East Belfast

As the Alliance Party representative on the Eastside Learning Partnership Education Framework, Chris Lyttle MLA welcomed the launch of the new initiative, which has outlined an educational strategy for East Belfast and aims to foster collaboration between schools, parents and the community.

Five priority areas have been identified: Aspiration and Attainment, Area-based Planning, Working in Partnership, Valuing All Education Pathways, and Early Years Development.

At the launch of the Framework at the Park Avenue Hotel in East Belfast, Lyttle was joined by MP Naomi Long and Alliance Belfast Council Group Leader Councillor Michael Long.

"It was great to see so many schools, local organisations and elected representatives at this launch and committed to raising the value placed on education in our community," Lyttle said.

"This is an innovative and collaborative approach where teachers, parents, community workers, elected representatives and businesses are working together to improve educational opportunity and outcomes for all children in East Belfast. The aim of this strategy is to raise aspiration and maximise the co-ordination of the scarce resources available to our schools.

"This is a positive framework for education and we must now all work together to deliver the best possible education for all our children in East Belfast."
