Lyttle welcomes Hospitality Ulster, industry growth

In response to the announcement that Northern Ireland's hospitality sector has the potential to create up to 5,000 new jobs over the next decade, Lyttle has voiced his excitement and support for the burgeoning industry and its initiatives.

The announcement came alongside the launch of Hospitality Ulster, an umbrella organisation developed from Pubs of Ulster. Hospitality Ulster now represents pubs, restaurants, and hotels in the region, as well as provides a range of support services and resources such as legal advice, updates on regulation changes, accountancy issues and more. Hospitality Ulster will also serve as an advocate for the sector in terms of influencing government, working with stakeholders and promoting industry expansion.

At the moment, the hospitality sector represents 1 in 20 jobs in Northern Ireland, with 60,000 jobs total. The sector also contributes £70.5 million payments in Corporation Tax, and £17.9 million in business rates in Northern Ireland.

"Hospitality is a crucial industry to the economy and Northern Ireland, and one that has made tremendous strides over the past few years," Lyttle said. "I look forward to supporting Hospitality Ulster's continued growth and bolstering its efforts in cementing Northern Ireland's reputation as a world-class tourist destination."
